Texture Playground has at its core caring, styling and foremost loving one’s Afro-textured hair. I am not a hairstylist and I don’t believe one has to be in order to care for her Afro-textured hair properly. The key is to be an educated consumer.
I started Texture Playground in November 2008. There is an average of 35,000 page views per month to the site, and over 400 RSS feed subscribers… and these numbers are increasing daily! Texture Playground is also bookmarked by many natural hair bloggers and vloggers (video bloggers on the YouTube interface), as well as nearly 100 friends via the Google Friend Connect interface. Texture Playground also has a YouTube channel with 2200 subscribers tuning in for the next hairstyle video or tip.
I showcase my journey in ways that highlight the simplicity of wearing and styling natural hair, and the importance of using the right tools for hair care, styling and accessorizing.
Texture Playground’s audience is primarily made of:
